Music education is an important part of our society. At Genesis Unlimited Studios, we believe that music should be fun, carefree, and liberating. Music is at the heart of both intellectual and emotional experiences because it helps to think and to feel.
We offer music lessons for several facets of music. Voice lessons, guitar lessons, drum lessons, piano lessons, violin lessons, and songwriting lessons are at the top of the list.
Voice Lessons – Voice lessons are taught by the studio owner, Mike Obremski and Jacob Looper. Mike has been trained vocally since he was 6 years old. Mike is currently the worship leader at Word of Victory Church in Redmond. Jacob has taught 1000’s of students for over 25 years. Let’s be up front here, we won’t try to make you sound like your favorite artist, because each person has their own unique voice. Our voice lessons will train you to use your unique voice to make beautiful music. We focus on breathing techniques, vocal exercises, and musical technicality. We specialize in training students for musical theatre.
Guitar Lessons – Studio Owner Mike Obremski is your instructor for guitar lessons. Mike has been playing guitar for over 30 years. Lessons are taught for acoustic or electric guitar. Lessons will focus on technical playing, learning your notes and chords, finger placement, soloing techniques, and strumming. However, we will also teach the student how to add heart and feeling to the music. Playing an instrument should be more than just playing notes and chords. Playing an instrument should bring out emotions and encourage the listener to feel a certain way.
Piano Lessons – We currently have several instructors for piano from beginner to professional. Beginning students will learn how to read music, find notes on the piano, build dexterity and other essentials so you can begin playing music. More experienced students continue to progress with advanced technique instruction and exercises, especially through significant repertoire.
Violin Lessons – Abigail Stevens is our Violin Instructor. Abigail grew up in Happy Valley, OR and started violin when she was 11. She went to private lessons and played in her school orchestra. She has participated in many recitals and concerts as well as joining her local church’s worship team. She performed in the Willamette Falls Symphony and taught music lessons as a private tutor.
Drum Lessons – Drum lessons are taught by Jayden Souza. Drummers are the backbone and heartbeat of any band. Being a good drummer requires good timing and great coordination. Learn the skills necessary to become a great drummer. Drumbeats, fills, timing. Everything you need to succeed behind a kit.
Music Theory – Taught by Morgan Visser, music theory is the written language of music, and these lessons will help you read and speak that language fluently. We’ll begin with the fundamentals, covering scales, rhythm, and key signatures, and gradually work our way toward more advanced topics like chord voicing, modulation, and modes. Each lesson is designed to break down complex ideas into practical, easy-to-understand concepts, helping you apply what you learn directly to your playing. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your understanding, these lessons are tailored to help you grow at your own pace.
Songwriting Lessons – If you already play an instrument, including your voice, and want to learn how to compose and arrange songs, we offer lessons in songwriting as well! With over 30 years in the music industry, Mike has written songs for several different genre’s. Have some songs you started to write and want some help pulling it all together? Have some ideas, but not sure how to arrange it all into musical form? Songwriting classes are for you!
